Industry Track

Business informatics research does not only extend the body of knowledge of the information society, but at the same time provides a tangible impact to industry. In order to learn from real world industry needs, we also elicit presentations (and paper submissions) from industry. The Industrial Track will be structured to foster the exchange of know-how between industry and academia, thereby accelerating transfer of novel scientific solutions into industrial applications.
Thus, we welcome submissions from industry in any of the CBI domains:

  • Business Process Engineering
  • Enterprise Modeling
  • Enterprise Architecture
  • Enterprise Engineering
  • Enterprise & Business Transformation
  • Business (Model) & Service Innovation
  • Empowering & Enabling Technologies
  • Social & Frontier Technologies
  • Data-Driven Service and Market Engineering

For a more detailed description of domains, please have a look on the Call for (Academic) Papers.

Industry Papers should meet the following conditions:

  • At least one author of each industry track paper should be from a company (rather than from a university).
  • The paper should report about industrial or other real-world applications.
  • The paper should present novel solutions to problems in the area of Business Informatics.
  • Paper presentations may include a short demo of the system.
  • Papers should not be marketing certain products. They must concentrate on the technologies behind the products.
  • Papers should raise awareness in the research community of the problems of practical applications.

The industry track focuses on high quality presentations rather than on the underlying papers. Accordingly, submissions to the industry track may follow the format of an extended abstract (about 2 pages). However, short industry papers (4 pages) and full industry papers (8 pages) may be submitted as well. In case of acceptance, the authors may decide whether or not to include a paper (extended abstract / short paper / full paper) in the proceedings. Please note that the page size refers to IEEE style pages (see formatting instructions).

Submissions to the industry track are made via the general CBI conference management system (Easy Chair): https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ieeecbi2013. At the beginning of the submission process please select “Industry Track (CBI 2013)” and not the domain of your contribution, since the domains are reserved for the academic paper submissions.
